This week we had the honour to host U.S. Ambassador to Slovakia Her Excellence Ms. Brink in new premises of Kosice International School at Polna St. After brief tour around the school including media and library centre, our modern classrooms and cafeteria we had the chance to answer many well targeted questions. We had the chance to explain the reasons why first international school is important for the improvement of living conditions and investment environment in Eastern Slovakia, introduce our international and local staff, discuss the differences between standard Slovak school system and International Baccalaureate. Head of U.S. mission to Slovakia was also interested in all the steps which were leading from idea to real international primary school in Košice. Mr. Peter Fischer, American Chamber of Commerce Member of the Board gave our honoured visitor brief intro into educational goals of Chamber and their long term plan to support establishment of international school in our region. Ms. Brink also positively surprised us with her deep knowledge about IB curriculum due to the fact her kids had chance to study IB PYP and MYP, too.
