Welcome Ms. Nadia Schultz – KEIS New PYP 1 Teacher!

We have the honour to invite Ms. Nadia Schulz – experienced PYP teacher who will join KEIS this September to expand our PYP educators team. Ms. Nadia came to Kosice from Cape Town, South Africa and will be responsible for PYP 1 class – Year 1 and Year 2 students as Homeroom Teacher. Look what she writes about herself:

As a native South African, I have had the privilege of being surrounded by different cultures and languages from a very young age. I love getting to know new cultures and exploring new places. Growing up, I experienced big city life in Pretoria, as well as the quiet countryside of the Kalahari. After school I completed my BA (Hons) in Communication and Languages and worked part time as a music director for a variety of music groups. Later, I went on to teach at a small school in the beautiful town of Clarens in the Free State, while completing a Post-Graduate Certificate in Education. Here, I realized the value of education and the wonderful impact that a school can have in a community. Next, I traveled to Daegu, South Korea, to teach English at a language academy; what a privilege it was to see a completely different part of the world! In 2020, I moved back to South Africa, exploring a new area of my home country: Cape Town. I taught at Hout Bay International IB School and spent a lot of my free time Stand Up Paddleboarding.

I love the PYP and the way that it inspires independent learning, empowering students to gain valuable skills and attitudes to become responsible agents of learning. The freedom that students and educators experience through this curriculum makes learning fun and expands the classroom to include a whole new world of information.

I can’t wait to become part of KEIS and get to know all of the clever students that will be joining me on this learning journey.
